Projects

Corporate Office Interiors

Exelon Corporate Headquarters - Chicago, Illinois

Pursuing LEED-CI Platinum, this project includes Interior design services for the interior tenant build-out for a new 24,000 square foot space located in downtown Chicago. The project will use sustainable design features such as efficient lighting with a direct/indirect lighting system and individually controlled task lighting. Locally manufactured and recycled content material are used throughout. Low flow plumbing fixtures are specified for reduction of potable water consumption. Finishes, furniture and equipment are specified with low VOC's and no formaldehyde to improve indoor air quality within the space.

Commercial

Sustainable Multi-Family Condominiums - New Orleans

This 80 unit sustainable multi-family condominium building is pursuing a LEED silver rating. Energy savings will be achieved through ultra efficient lighting systems, energy star appliances, low-flow fixtures, and native landscaping. Conscious building orientation and open floor layouts maximizes natural daylighting and views to the exterior. A green roof not only reduces the urban heat island effect but is also designed to capture most of the flat roof’s rain runoff while providing insulation and a community garden environment.

Anton's Salon and Spa - Pewaukee, Wi

Designed within an existing 8,000 SF two story prairie style exterior, this salon and spa is far from being prairie. The spiral layout divides the space between relaxation and high energy. While the spa is tucked at the core for intended long relaxing visits, the hair salon intuitively leads guest along the outer layer allowing quick and ease of access.

Residential

Private Residence - Chicago, IL

With a view of the Chicago skyline and lakefront, this couple wanted to spice up their condo with a fun, stylish and environmental factor! The interior finishes include no-voc (no volatile organic compounds) paint, natural cotton fabrics, and mosaic recycled glass tile. The lighting in the unit also consists of energy saving fluorescent lighting in the main entry, kitchen, and restrooms.

Private Residence - Chicago, IL

This kitchen renovation included upgraded cabinets that were manufactured locally as well as the installation of energy star appliances, low-flow plumbing fixtures and energy efficient lighting. Natural daylighting was maximized through the addition of skylights and enhancing the natural wood finish of the cathedral ceilings.

LEED© Consulting

UNIVERSITY OF ILlinois, INTEGRATED BIOPROCESSING RESEARCH LAB - CHAMPAIGN, IL

Located on campus of the University of Illinois, this 40,000 Square Foot research facility is dedicated to research for development of alternative fuels. IBRL's reaserch plans to seek conversion of renewable sources to biofuels and will focus on conversion of cellulosic materials such as soy beans and corn to improve feeds, foods, and energy sources. What is LEED?

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is the major program supporting the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) mission for advancing buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. LEED focuses on five key areas of human and environmental health:
• Sustainable Sites
• Water Efficiency
• Energy and Atmosphere
• Materials and Resources
• Indoor Environmental Quality
There are currently nine specific LEED Programs:
• New Commercial Construction and Major Renovation projects
• Existing Building Operations and Maintenance
• Commercial Interiors projects
• Core and Shell Development projects
• Homes
• Neighborhood Development
• Guidelines for Multiple Buildings and On-Campus Building Projects
• LEED for Schools
• LEED for Retail
The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Each LEED program uses a point system* to determine what level of certification a building will achieve.
